“If you had to name the single most important factor in supporting entrepreneurship at regional and local level, what would it be?” Dionizy Smoleń, partner at PwC Poland and moderator at the XV Europejskie Forum Gospodarcze – Łódzkie 2022, asked Roman Matys.
“Copying solutions rather than inventing unique ones. A big problem is that the search for ways to support entrepreneurship is delegated to experts who are very protective of their own ideas and consider other people’s expertise inferior to their own. As a result, a lot of time, and not only time, is lost trying to reinvent the wheel.
There are plenty of countries, regions and cities around the world that have already been in similar situations, looked for and developed solutions, and had both successes and failures.
It is enough to take the successful examples and adapt them to your own situation or model; any new solutions found along the way will be a welcome bonus.”
