Many young people lost their jobs because of the pandemic. To tackle this, Roman Matys is building dialogue between the rectors of Lviv’s universities, big business and foreign-owned companies in the region. University leaders describe their students’ potential, while investors and business owners share their vacancies. The result of this cooperation is jobs for young people.

Roman Matys met Viktor Voloshyn, rector of IT STEP University, Ukraine’s first university specialising in IT education. It trains bachelors and masters in fields in demand on the IT market. Graduates receive a university degree and can also earn international certificates from Microsoft, Cisco, Autodesk, Oracle and Google. They also discussed business process outsourcing.

Roman Matys is pleased that IT professionals share his vision of the industry’s potential. New ideas produce new ways of thinking and drive development, so modern universities are on the right track.
