At the XV Europejskie Forum Gospodarcze – Łódzkie 2022, Roman Matys received a letter of thanks from the Marshal of Łódź Voivodeship, Grzegorz Schreiber. With Deputy Marshal Andrzej Górczyński he discussed “How to build mutual trust between regional and local government and entrepreneurs?”, and they reached a shared conclusion: in the long run there is no alternative to cooperation and partnership.
“Trust is a social and psychological phenomenon, essentially a confidence in the goodwill and integrity of the other party you are in a relationship with. So the answer is fairly simple: to build trust between government and entrepreneurs, both sides have to be as open as possible and, through cooperation, give each other the kind of experience from which trust can grow. I think the formats of such cooperation can become the foundation of trust. That means business and government communicate as openly as possible, neither side tries to take advantage of the other, entrepreneurs do not shirk their share of agreed commitments, and government acts as a partner and helper working towards a common result rather than just a supervisor of compliance,” said Roman Matys.
